AirMarker – The flying warning triangle
AirMarker is a new and globally unique system for visual emergency alerting. It was developed to significantly shorten the search for injured or missing persons. The emergency signal is easy to carry and is a perfect complement to digital devices. AirMarker is based on a trigger unit and a luminous, reflective balloon attached to a durable high-tech rope that can rise up to 45 meters. From there, it can be seen from far away, showing clearly and unmistakably that someone needs help. Once triggered, the AirMarker can remain in the air for up to three days, glowing and reflecting in the dark. AirMarker will be available in April 2024.
The start-up has been founded by two experienced Swiss entrepreneurs, Rico Dürst and Daniel Wattenhofer. The initial idea for the AirMarker arose when Rico Dürst was flying a helicopter in the Swiss Alps searching for missing people and injured / dead cows. Searches were often time-consuming since the given locations proved to be inaccurate or incorrect. While working, Rico Dürst often thought: “It would be so much easier if the people who need help could release a balloon that would make their location visible from far away.”

Introducing the AirMarker R.One
The AirMarker R.One fits in every backpack. It is ready to use in a flash and, with its eye-catching color and ability to float in the air for up to three days, it completes your personal safety equipment when you are exploring the mountains. In an emergency, the signal balloon can rise to a height of 45 meters, signaling clearly and unmistakably that you need help.
The flight altitude of the orange glowing signal balloon can be adjusted according to the landscape and weather by securing the line to the AirMarker cover. If needed, there is also a carbine attached to an elastic strap to secure the AirMarker to a tree, rock, rope, or other equipment.
The durable surface of the AirMarker R.One is made of high-quality ABS material. It contains a release mechanism which consists of 3 exclusive AirMarker helium cylinders, a connecting rope made of a high-performance synthetic fiber and a special balloon which has a 4-point securing system as well as integrated light sources including reflectors.
In case of activation, AirMarker or the retailer from whom the AirMarker was purchased will replace the product with a special discount.
